Organic Birdie Bread Bundles

Birdie Bread is a great way to introduce your bird to a new pellet and fresh foods by incorporating them into the bread recipes. Our mixes are made with a base of our organic pellets, so that's done for you, and we also incorporate the healthy foods too!

An easy-to-follow recipe is included to walk you through making this delightful treat for your companion:

1-2-3 Simple Recipe: 

1 cup BirdTricks Birdie Bread Mix

1 teaspoon Baking Powder

1 teaspoon Baking Soda

1 large egg, beaten

1 cup organic applesauce (or 2/3 cup if your bird likes drier items!)

Step 1: Combine dry ingredients together in a medium-sized mixing bowl.

Step 2: Combine wet ingredients (egg and applesauce) in a large mixing bowl.

Step 3: Combine the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until you have a smooth dough batter.

You can make muffins, "drop-from-spoon-cookies" or spread in a greased 8x8 pan.

Bake at 350°F (177°C)  for 15 minutes, or until firm. Refrigerate what you aren't going to use right away. You may also freeze extra portions and thaw as needed for use.

PLEASE NOTE: While corn is an ingredient that is not used in our pellets, it is used as an eco-friendly and bird-safe way to clean the machinery used to grind the ingredients for our pellets. While it is very rare that this would happen, corn can at times get lodged in the machinery and then accidentally get processed into a piece of the pellets. We recommend if you find a piece of corn to toss it out, but know that it is perfectly safe for your parrot to ingest if you'd rather feed it.
